DATERS DIARIES
SINGLE MUMS DATING DIARY MARCH

6th March
Ski Instructors - 0, Ski Injuries - 1.
OK, firstly skiing was MUCH harder than it looks on the telly. Secondly, no one looks glamorous covered in snow from head to foot and unable to get up. Thirdly, how come I was in the only ski lessons with a female instructor (they must have seen me coming) Finally, I couldn't even pick up a stylish injury that involved a plaster cast and handsome French doctors - I got a dislocated thumb and a tubigrip! How good will I look on my next date!

Fortunately, I've got a few more responses in my absence and I'm looking forward to checking them out.

Interesting response in my absence - 2
Doesn't sound a lot does it? But I think I'm learning to be a little more discerning in my choices. I've been inclined to answer anyone who seems nice but I have to be honest, I've got loads of friends and I'm not really looking for more. What I really want is a partner so that's how I'm starting to rate them Also, I think I'm beginning to spot a fake earlier.

Dates - 0 so far. Possibles - 1?
I am far more circumspect than I have been and probably a little more realistic about how quickly I will meet the man of my dreams. This is good though ( I tell myself) because I really am not desperate and this way I get to check out far more people before I select the lucky one!

I'm now really enjoying speaking to "World Traveller" who contacted me when I was away and we'll see how it goes!

17th March
Dates - 1
I know, I was taking things more slowly and not rushing for the next date, but my "panda eye" look from skiing has faded now and the thumb is almost better so maybe I'm ready to be unleashed on the dating world again so I have arranged to meet "World Traveller" for a drink after work on Monday. This is actually a really good time for me as I have arranged for the kids to be looked after only until 7:00pm so if it's awful, I do have the ultimate escape route. If it's good, well, we'll just have to arrange another time won't we! I'll let you know.

Great dates behind me - 1. Ahead - who knows
Meeting WT (who I shall now call Dan) got off to a great start - he was there on time, as was I for once, he recognised me straight away and he looked the same as his photo too - with no tell tale dent of hastily removed wedding ring either. All boxes ticked so far!

We just picked up where we left off on email and really clicked. The time until I had to go flew by, which has to be a good sign, and we have already arranged to meet up Friday evening for dinner! I can't remember the last time I was taken out for dinner so how great is this!

Prospective new man - 1
I had such a good evening last night. We met at an Italian restaurant near here (I'm still not quite at the point of wanting him to have my - and my kids - home address yet and he is really comfortable with that and isn't pushy about it which is a good sign). I never felt I could walk in to somewhere like that on my own but he was there early so I didn't have to wait alone and that just set the tone. We chatted and laughed like we had known each other for years and while the wine helped I don't think it was essential, he is just really good company.

At the end of the evening, he saw me into my taxi with a very chaste peck on the cheek and a plan to meet up in the week. So far so good.

I know I know, I've started to see someone….. I don't think it can be called "seeing" him just yet though and while he seems great so far, I wouldn't suggest you bought a hat for a while yet. Either way, I want to still keep my options open until I am sure. I'll keep you updated.

29th March
Further dates - 1. New email contact - 1
Wow, now I do feel like a scarlet woman. I've got another date planned with Dan AND a new guy - Simon - who seems very keen to meet up as well! Decisions, decisions. Do I tell Dan about Simon or vice versa? Should I be looking to see how things go with Dan before I meet anyone else. This is a dilemma I could not have imagined having a few months back. Things are definitely looking up - even if potentially a little complicated!
